Did you know: You can improve your chance of qualifying for a private student loan.
If you're concerned about qualifying for a private student loan because you don't have an established credit history, consider adding a creditworthy cosigner such as a parent, grandparent or other person. Applying with a cosigner who has good credit and positive income can help you satisfy credit criteria and it may even help you obtain a lower interest rate.

When you're ready to apply, be sure to have your contact information, Social Security number, Driver's license number, and one personal reference, not living with you or your cosigner. You will also need your total cost of attendance and estimated financial assistance.

The SunTrust Off To College Scholarship SweepstakesSM is available to high school seniors and current undergraduate students, and online registration begins Sept. 16, 2013. Scholarships will be given away from October - May. It is free to enter and eligibility is not based on GPA or financial need.
