Student Loans aren't the only way to pay for college
At SunTrust, we think it's important that you consider all options to help finance college.
- Find free money - Before thinking about borrowing, search for scholarships and grants. You can also enter every two weeks for a chance to win a $500 scholarship through the SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes. In addition, research school work-study programs and look for other scholarships wherever you can for example, your church groups, community organizations and workplaces may also offer scholarships.
- Federal student loans - available to undergraduate students, graduate students, and parents, federal student loans are offered regardless of income level through the U.S. Department of Education.
- Private student loans - If the cost of college can't be covered through grants, scholarships and federal loans (Stafford, PLUS and Grad PLUS), consider a private student loan from SunTrust (Custom Choice Loan® and the SunTrust Graduate Business School Loan). With a private student loan, money can be borrowed for education related expenses such as transportation, housing, a computer to use at school, etc.
- SunTrust has other options, too - 529 plans and home equity lines of credit.
