The government's way of helping you pay.
Here in the U.S., the government has a program that can help you borrow money for college, with loans that usually cost a lot less than other loans to pay back.
The most common federal loans are Stafford Loans. There are two different types of Stafford Loans: one for students who show financial need, and one for those who don't. If your parents are helping you out or you're a graduate student, a federal PLUS Loan might make sense as well. And remember, if scholarships, grants and federal loans don't cover all of your education costs, private loans from SunTrust can be a good way to go.
